CHAD REED SIGNS TO RIDE WITH MONSTER ENERGY KAWASAKI TEAM FOR 2010

Monster Energy Kawasaki has signed four-time AMA Champion Chad Reed to compete in the AMA Supercross and AMA Motocross championships. Reed joins Ryan Villopoto on Kawasaki’s factory team with both riders racing the Kawasaki KX450F.

Reed returns to a green bike after having ridden for the Kawasaki European Factory Team in 2001 where he won the Dutch Grand Prix. In the eight years since, the 27-year-old rider has amassed an impressive resume including an AMA Supercross Lites East Coast crown (2002), two AMA Supercross titles (2004, ‘08), and most recently the 2009 AMA Motocross championship. During that time he has won 38 times in AMA Supercross competition, five overall AMA National Motocross events, and he has earned an impressive 105 AMA Supercross podium finishes.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MARIS STROMBERGS ON HIS WIN ON THE MENS FINAL UCI BMX SUPERSCROSS IN CHULA VISTA

 

Congratulations to Maris Strombergs on his victory at the Elite Men Final at the UCI Bmx Supercross in Chula Vista USA. These BMX races are held on circuits of around 350 metres, including jumps, banked corners and other obstacles. KEVIN VAN DAM WINS HIS 5TH ANGLER OF THE YEAR TROPHY

Kevin VanDam was proclaimed the Bassmaster Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year. A culmination of a dramatic photo finish that pitted professional bass fishing's two glamour boys in one of the tightest races in recent memory.In claiming the championship, VanDam became the first fisherman since Missouri's Guido Hibdon to win back-to-back AOY rings.

Hot Shoppe grabs the bull by the horns, supplying gear for the Carhartt Bullfighters of the Championship Bull Riding association (CBR) and the custom-designed outfit for the Enterprise Barrelman of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR).

With the reputation Hot Shoppe has earned manufacturing tough and quality built action sports apparel, it seemed a natural fit teaming up with the most extreme sport on dirt...bull riding. The requirements were simple; provide a rugged and flexible jersey/short combo that can take a beating much like our motocross and BMX gear.

We came up with a durable micro fiber polyester jersey that encompasses tough attributes and offers optimum breathing characteristics to keep it cool. The shorts are manufactured out of rip-stop polyester, designed to offer maximum movement and facilitate knee braces etc.

What is a Bullfighter?
Bullfighters are the "Cowboy Protectors" at bullriding events. Their duty is to distract a bull when a rider has either bucked off his bull or has dismounted upon conclusion of his eight-second ride. The distraction provided by the bullfighter gives the bull rider a chance to get out of harm’s way. Occasionally, a bull rider gets his hand caught in his bull rope and is “hung up” to the bull, requiring the bullfighters to move in and free the trapped cowboy. Several times a performance, a bullfighter will sacrifice his own body and risk serious injury to aid a fallen cowboy.

What is a Barrelman?
The barrelman's job in the arena is to amuse the crowd while the bulls are being loaded or the show is on hold due to live television breaks. The barrelman spends a lot of time hanging around or inside a custom-made barrel placed in the center of the arena. The barrel not only protects the barrelman from a charging bull, but also provides bull riders with an island of safety when bucked off far from the arena fence or bucking chutes.

The PBR's Barrelman, Flint Rasmussen, is the best of the best. 8-time PBR World Finals Barrelman, 7-time National Finals Rodeo Barrelman and 7-time PRCA Clown of the Year Flint is the delight of fans from coast-to-coast.
